Rolloff Dumpster Rental

Q: For how long can I keep my dumpster?

You can keep your dumpster for as long as you need it. After the rental agreement, you may be charged overage fees by the day depending on several factors. Most of our dumpsters have a one to two week rental agreement.

Q: What material can I put inside my roll-off dumpster?

Most items you would expect to find in a home cleanup or construction project are fine to put into dumpsters, however there are a few things that cannot be placed in the dumpster and a few more things that can be dumped for an additional fee. Refrigerators, batteries, paint, mattresses, hazardous materials, and tires are restricted at some dumpsites, so be sure to ask when you order your dumpster what can and cannot go inside.

Q: Where can I place a rolloff dumpster?

You can put a rolloff dumpster anywhere. We have dumpsters of all sizes to fit in driveways, in parking lots for construction and demolition jobs, and, if necessary on plots of land in gravel, dirt, or grass. If you think you need a rolloff dumpster for a cleanup project or construction job, we can almost always find a place to put it on your property. Just give us a call at (540) 307-4466 and we can help you select where to place your rolloff dumpster.

Q: Can I put a dumpster on the street?

A permit is often required if a dumpster is to be placed on a street or sidewalk. We will be happy to place a dumpster anywhere, however you should check to make sure our dumpster placement isn't in violation of any local ordinances or homeowner association guidelines. If your dumpster is in violation of any ordinances and needs to be removed in a hurry, an extra fee may be charged for the rush service. You will also be responsible for paying the ticket.

Q: How much does it cost to rent a dumpster?

Dumpster prices vary depending on several factors. The price to rent a dumpster depends on the size of the rolloff dumspter, location, and contents of the dumpster. If you are curious about the cost of a dumpster in your area, give us a call at (540) 307-4466 and we can help determine how much it will cost depending on these factors.

Q: How do I pay for my rolloff dumpster?

When you call us to order a dumpster, our customer service team will take your credit card information and a receipt will be sent to an email with information about your rental from our secure payment processor. We accept all major credit and debit cards. If you have any special requirements regarding payment, just ask and our sales staff will do their best to cater to your needs.

Q: When is the soonest I can expect a dumpster to arrive?

Dumpsters arrive at different times depending on when you order it and what our availability is for that particular type of dumpster is at the time. Typically, next day delivery is available if an order is placed before noon. Oftentimes same day delivery is available.

Q: How much weight can a roll-off dumpster hold?

Your dumpster comes with a weight allowance, or an amount of weight that is included at no extra cost. This amount is typically sufficient for most jobs. If you have excess weight in the dumpster when we dump it, you will be charged for the extra weight. In Virginia, the Department of Transportation (DOT) limit for weight in a dumpster is 10 tons. Our smaller trucks can lift 6 to 8 tons, and our larger trucks can lift up to 20 tons. You are responsible for making sure your dumpster does not exceed the limits that the truck can carry. If you exceed the DOT limit you may be charged an Extreme Weight fee in addition to the regular weight costs.

Q: How much does it cost to swap out a dumpster I have for an empty one?

A dumpster swap costs the same as a dumpster delivery. A driver will either come pick up your original dumpster and another dumpster will be dropped off in another truck, or a driver will drop off an empty dumpster and drive away with the full one. In essence, this is getting an entirely new dumpster.

Q: How much debris can I put in a dumpster?

Dumpsters can be filled to the brim, as long as a tarp can be placed on top of them and the truck can handle the weight of the dumpster. If a dumpster is overloaded, it cannot be driven safely or legally down the road.

Q: How often can I swap or switch out my dumpster for an empty one?

You can swap out your dumpster for an empty one as often as you like. Some jobs require multiple daily swap outs and we are always happy to facilitate that. Just make arrangements with us and we will schedule your dumpsters accordingly so to best suit your needs and the needs of your job.

Q: Will the dumpster do damage to my property?

Dumpsters are very heavy, and the process of dropping them involves rolling them off of the back of a large truck. They can cause significant damage to grass, and can also leave superficial marks on asphalt. We recommend placing your dumpster on pavement as opposed to grass. If you are concerned with the asphalt on your driveway or in your lot, you are encouraged to purchase a 4' by 8' 3/4" thick board at Home Depot or your local retailer, and to cut it into four pieces. This can be left where the dumpster is to be placed and the driver will drop the dumpster onto the boards which will prevent any damage to your driveway.

Q: Can I put other material with concrete in a regular dumpster, or am I required to only put concrete in a concrete dumpster?

There is a certain amount of mesh wiring that is used to reinforce concrete called rebar, and this is allowed in a concrete dumpster. Likewise, a certain amount of concrete can be put in a regular roll off dumpster, however you should always be mindful of the weight, as concrete is heavy and ordinary roll off dumpsters have weight limitations.

Q: Will a large dumpster fit in my single car driveway?

A 30 yard dumpster, which is one of our larger and more popular sized dumpsters can be backed easily into a single car driveway. All dumpsters are eight feet wide, some are longer however, and if you have a very short driveway, you should be aware that the dumpster may stick out into the street.

Q: How do I schedule my dumpster pickup?

When your dumpster is full and you need it swapped out for an empty one, or if you are finished with your project and want the dumpster removed, just call us and we will put you on the schedule. Generally, if you call before noon, we can perform a pickup the following business day. Fredericksburg Dumpster Rental (540) 307-4466.
